On Sunday 4th January 2015 a miracle happened. All of a sudden I realised, that my hip no longer hurt. As I was walking on my crutches through the home accessories section of my local Next store, the absence of pain made itself felt like the most gloriously soft and fluid velvet gown. After searching for a diagnosis and cure for my hip pain for the previous 20+ years it had actually happened. In that moment, I knew for certain that the surgery I’d just undergone had been worth it.

But my journey didn’t end there. I underwent identical surgery on my other hip including months of rehabilitation and a few more small surgeries. But I made it. I never thought I would but I did. I can now walk around the house pain free. My heart no longer sinks if one of my kids asks me to get something for them. Well, not really! I can go out walking, shopping, or whatever I like, and it is still amazing.
